Explore the waters around Long Beach at our hotel near Long Beach Marina and enjoy a vibrant mix of beachside relaxation, downtown activities, and Art Deco history in our European-style hotel rooms. From family-friendly fun to thrill-seeking activities for group getaways, Long Beach’s four miles of beach and bustling marina provide fun on the water.
At the mouth of the Los Angeles River, Long Beach has a redeveloped marina where the classic history of The Queen Mary meets the modern shopping village of Shoreline Village. After you’ve shopped the shops and eaten your fill at the boardwalk and historical site, explore the rest of the Long Beach Marina!
The Long Beach Shoreline Marina is just 2 miles from our hotel. It’s a scenic half-hour walk, past the Convention & Entertainment Center and then through Rainbow Lagoon Park, a small but scenic park on the water designed in a traditional Japanese style. The shoreline marina itself has over 1,500 boat slips in a range of sizes and availabilities. The marina was originally built in 1983 to host the sailing competitions of the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics—where the US won 3 sailing golds and 4 silvers!
Whether you’re just a casual boating enthusiast looking to admire the yachts and ships gliding in and out of the marina, or you’re looking for a hotel close to Long Beach Marina after docking your own boat, Hotel Royal offers a vibrant mix of downtown location, unique amenities, and apartment-style rooms.
At the other end of Long Beach from our hotel is another marina on Alamitos Bay. Alamitos Bay is characterized by Naples Island right in the middle. For a unique way to explore the waters at the east end of Long Beach, visit Long Beach Waterbikes right at the end of the marina. Rent a water bike for a fun and silly outing, where you’ll peddle your way across the water. Go for a “glow ride” at night, and finish your evening at Ballast Point Brewing for a pint of California craft beer.
